We Hate Hills & Wind are not a club
or a formal team, just a bunch of blokes who are enjoying getting out at the weekend to try to stay a bit fit, get some fresh
air & some fun, followed by a lovely coffee & toast !! BUT we do hate hills & wind when cycling !!
Joining
the team is by invitation only, which may seem cliquey but ensures that we aren't & that there is good banter within
the team. There are no heroes, no racing, an ethos of sticking together when we ride & plenty of banter
In 2008 5 of us took part in several individual day Charity rides, culminating with the London
To Paris ride of nearly 300 miles in aid of Action Medical Research "Touching Tiny Lives" charity in aid of sick,
vulnerable & premature babies & raised nearly £7,000
In July 2009 25 of us cycled a longer tougher route of 340 miles from London To Paris raising
£25,000 for the Touching Tiny Lives campaign & £1,500 for the Chris Negus Memorial Fund.
